LIVE SOUND

Tab player with live sound

Most tab programs play parts with synthetic MIDI — good enough to learn the notes, but not the sound. In Tabify you hear VST plugins and your own guitar through an audio interface: play along with the tab and sound like you're on stage.

How it works

  1. Plug your guitar into the computer through an audio interface.
  2. Add VST plugins — to your instrument and to the tab tracks: amp, cabinet, effects, any plugins you already use.
  3. Open a tab and play along. Slow down, loop the hard part, turn on the metronome — all in one window.

Why live sound matters

  • Learn the sound, not just the notes. With distortion and effects a part plays differently than on a clean tone — better to get used to how it really sounds from the start.
  • Hear yourself in the mix. Your guitar sounds together with the other tracks of the tab, and the mixer sets the volume of each one.
  • No extra software. No need to keep a DAW, a tab player, a metronome and a tuner open at the same time.

What's free and what's in Pro

Live sound is available in the free version — you can use VST on 3 tracks. Pro removes this limit and adds the tab editor.

FAQ

How is live sound different from MIDI?

MIDI is sound synthesised from notes. In Tabify you hear VST plugins and your real instrument plugged in through an audio interface instead.

Do I need an audio interface?

To play your own guitar through VST — yes, the guitar has to be connected to the computer through an audio interface. Playing tabs, changing the tempo and looping work without one.

Is it free?

Yes, in the free version VST works on 3 tracks. In Pro (349 ₽ per month) there's no limit.

Which files can I play?

Guitar Pro files (.gp3, .gp4, .gp5, .gpx, .gp), as well as MusicXML and Capella.
